Minutes of the last meeting/This week

The minutes of the last meeting have been sent via email if you did not receive a copy you can request a copy by sending us an email to:- friendsofcoedbach@gmail.com and a reminder that we have our monthly meeting on Thursday  7.30 in the Pontarddulais Cricket Club where we will have our usual lively discussion on the following items.

 

Park Survey - Vyv Chair will report back on the meeting with Helen Grey Countryside Connections Officer Nature Conservation Team, City & Cunty of Swansea and Gareth Davies Community Development Officer Keep Wales Tidy/Environment Wales.

 

Discuss having a stall at the Buck Inn Pontlliw Easter Craft Fayre on Wednesday March 28th from 5pm till 9pm.

 

Discuss having a stall at Pontarddulais Carnival to be held on the last Saturday in June the theme  60 Glorious Years to mark the Diamond Jubilee. 

 

Discuss the Free Training Opportunities

1) Events in the Park Training Day 5th March 9.30 - 4.00pm 

2) Emergency First Aid on 26th March

3) Lantra Hedge Laying 30th March

4) Strimmer Training on 21st April

 

Updates on Chat and Chop Sessions in the Park, which are all reported on the Blog thanks to Martin..

 

All this is advance notice of our first Annual General Meeting which we will need to hold in April and perhaps a celebration of the group having been going for one whole year.

2nd Side

Andy has now started work on the 2nd side of the container.

The slight mistake has been sorted :-)

1st Side of the football Container.

This is the nearly finished product of the 1st side of the container. Andy said there were a few little bits to do.
A few people have stopped to chat with him so it is nice to see his work being appreciated.

Football Field Container

Andy a professional graffiti artist has been asked by Pontarddulais Junior Football team to spray paint the white container at the side of the football pitch.
The 1st side has been nearly finished and is already looking good.

11th February Wood Chip Path

Big thank you to Andy  who got this footage this morning (Saturday 11th February 2012) as well as helping with the barrowing and a big thank you to all who turned up very much appreciated.

February 2012 New Trees

We are pleased to say we now have four new trees in Coed Bach Park. A big thanks to Martin Bignell the Assistant Manager for the tree unit in Swansea for allowing us to have these.

Two new Oak trees have been placed next to the cleared gorse bush area behind the seating near the football field.

And two new cherry trees placed by the avenue of trees as you enter from Coed Bach road.
